Memorial Day Weekend is upon us, and as we remember those who sacrificed their lives in service to our country, there are many ways to observe the holiday weekend around the DFW Metroplex. Whether your plans include a memorial march, live music, man’s best friend, flowers or margaritas, there’s something for everyone this three-day weekend.

Dallas Memorial March – Carry the Load
Carry the Load is a non-profit dedicated to providing active, meaningful ways to honor our nation’s heroes. For those looking to give back this holiday, the Dallas Memorial March is a perfect way to do so while surrounded by live music, food trucks, honorary ceremonies and the march. The two-day fundraising event begins Sunday, May 28, and concludes on Memorial Day in observance of the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. Visit carrytheload.org for more information.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra
Who doesn’t love a good concert outside under the stars? On Memorial Day, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will honor our armed forces with a concert of patriotic tunes and fireworks display. The event is free for all, so bring your family and enjoy a lovely evening outdoors at Flag Pole Hill. Learn more at mydso.com.
The Red, White and Boots Festival
Put on your boots and head to the Fort Worth Stockyards for some festival fun. Live music, beer garden, food trucks, yard games, local vendors, kid’s activities and more await you. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit stockyardsstation.com.
The Dallas Arboretum
All Memorial Day Weekend, active members of the military, veterans and first responders receive free admission to the Dallas Arboretum with a valid photo I.D. Once inside, there are a variety of things to see and do, including crafts, live music and exhibits. Learn more at dallasarboretum.org.
Dallas Margarita Meltdown

7th Annual Brew-BQ
Margaritas not your beverage of choice? The Deep Ellum Brewing Company is hosting its 7th Annual Brew-BQ, which features delicious craft beer, BBQ, games and live music. Spend your Sunday in Deep Ellum, one of Dallas’s up-and-coming areas. For more information, visit deepellumbrewing.com.
Lone Star Bark
